Question

How to use Obsidian with Zotero?

Goal: Literature (e.g. with PDFs) in Zotero, notes (in Markdown) in Obsidian

My current workflow

  2. Using Obsidian plugin "Obsidian Zotero Integration" to import notes from Zotero into Obsidian: Zotero Integration: 🌟 Import (custom template)

via custom quick copy script

  1. Download Markdown.Item.URI.js from GitHub
  2. Place file inside the β€œtranslators” directory in your Zotero data folder
  3. Restart Zotero
  4. In the Zotero Preferences go to the β€œExport” tab and set the Item Format to β€œMarkdown Item URI”

You can now take advantage of Zotero’s quick copy functionality and drag&drop links from the item in your client right into Obsidian.
