Thunderbird - Set default calendar

Changing the default calendar for new events in Mozilla Thunderbird.

  1. Preferences > General > click "Config Editor" button.
  2. In the "Filter:" box enter calendar.registry
  3. Find a .calendar-main-default key – it will be set to true
  4. Other calendars either won’t have a .calendar-main-default key (or it will be set to false)
  5. Set the value of the .calendar-main-default key that goes with the calendar that currently shows up by default in new events to false
  6. Go to the .calendar-main-in-composite key that goes with the calendar you want as default and copy the name
  7. Filter by this key and change it to ...calendar-main-default
  8. Create a new key by this name with the type "Boolean" and the value true
  9. Now exit out of Thunderbird and restart
